I almost passed it by. You know the story. Abraham at Mamre. The heat of the day pressing down like a heavy hand. Three men standing nearby, just travellers, just shadows in the shimmering heat. He could have stayed in his tent. He could have looked away. He almost passed it by. But he didn't. And that moment, that choice to run toward strangers rather than retreat into comfort became the visitation that changed everything. Within a year, Sarah held her impossible son. The promise finally breathed.

Here's what haunts me: Visitation always precedes revolution.

Before the promise breaks open, before the barren womb becomes a nursery, before the laughter of disbelief turns to laughter of joy, there is a test. Will you see Him when He comes wearing ordinary clothes? The angelic visitors didn't arrive with trumpets. They looked like tired travellers, dusty feet and weary bodies. The extraordinary was hidden inside the utterly ordinary.

Isn't that just like God?

August is a month of heat and weariness. The year has been long. Some promises feel delayed. Some wombs remain empty, literal or spiritual. It's tempting to stay inside, close the tent flap, scroll past the divine disguised as routine. But I hear the Spirit whispering: This August, pay attention. Don't pass it by”.

The British Revolution you sense stirring, whether in your heart, your family, your church, or your nation, won't begin with fanfare. It will begin with a visitation. A word that comes while you're washing dishes. A Scripture that suddenly breathes. A stranger who speaks your own secret prayer back to you.

Abraham's story is our invitation.

  • He ran to meet them.

  • He bowed low.

  • He begged them to stay.

And because he did, the promise that had been twenty-five years delayed was unlocked in a single conversation over a meal. Do you need a revolution in some area of your life? A breaking of barrenness? A shift in your household? In your land? Then don't pass it by. Look up from your phone. Linger after church. Take the walk. Say yes to the inconvenient interruption. The visitors are already on the road. The angels are already at the tent door. The revolution you've been praying for is about to sit at your table and speak the word that changes everything.

"Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it." (Hebrews 13:2)

This August, stay awake. The visitation comes first. The revolution follows.
