JOY UNSPEAKABLE

Feet on unsinkable ground.
Love unstoppable.
But the deepest chord of all?
Joy unspeakable.
Not the loud laugh.
Not the bright day.
Not the easy road without tears.
The Bible says it in 1 Peter 1:8 “loving Jesus without seeing Him, yet rejoicing with joy unspeakable, full of glory”.
Glory. Not glitter.
Unspeakable. Not because words don't exist,
but because they break trying.

Jesus Himself is the example.
Hebrews 12:2 says: “For the joy set before Him, He endured the cross.”
Ponder that. The cross — splinters, thirst, betrayal, darkness, the weight of every sin ever whispered. No happiness there. But joy.
What joy?
· The joy of finishing what the Father sent Him to do.
· The joy of purchasing you — not with gold, but with grace.
· The joy of ripping death's ledger in two.
· The joy of saying, "It is finished,"
and meaning, "Now they can come home. Now they are mine."
In Gethsemane, He sweated like blood.
His soul was crushed.
Yet He did not run.
He did not call ten thousand angels.
He stayed.
That is unspeakable joy —
not feeling light,
but walking heavy into love's hardest work,
with resurrection on the other side.
So your feet may sink.
Love may stagger.
Your heart may feel like a stone.
But joy unspeakable?
It breathes beneath your sorrow
like a river underground.
It does not shout over your pain —
It holds you inside it.
You don't have to manufacture it.
You don't have to fake a smile.
You just receive the One who already walked through hell
and called it joy for your sake.
Because He rose.
Because He lives.
Because His joy — not your mood — is your strength.
That is the gospel.
That is the song with no final note.
That is joy unspeakable — and full of glory.
Amen.
