Soul clutter is what prevents you
dancing with God…. clear out the clutter and Dance. Often, we pray and we either don’t hear God, don’t get the answers we want or feel like He is not listening. God is always listening to us but His ways are higher than our ways.
Isaiah 55:8–9
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord.
so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.
Getting rid of the cloud
And our prayers are often hindered.
Lamentations 3:44 says
“You have covered yourself with a cloud so that no prayer can get through.”
That cloud can mean different things, it can be sin in our lives, anger or unforgiveness. So, we have to deal with our hearts. God looks at our hearts. We have to pray with the right motives and according to his will. So how do we get rid of ‘the cloud’?
Renew our minds to God's will.
“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is — His good, pleasing and perfect will.” Rom 12:2
Take captive every thought
“We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.” (2 Cor 10:5)
Forget what is behind
“Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” Phil 3:13
We have to draw near to God.
“Come near to God and He will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.” (James 4:8)
We need to find solitary places to be alone with God, our author and perfecter of our faith.
“But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.” (Luke 5:16)
We pray not so that we can get something but so that we can have relationship with God. He wants to love on us. When we are aligned with him and in his presence, we tend to pray according to His will and not our own. We pray for what is on God’s heart, because our hearts are entwined with His. Let us withdraw to the solitary place. Let us sit on our father’s lap and dance with Him.
“God’s love for you is passionate and pure and without reservation. He never holds back or plays games with your heart. There are no riddles with God. This kind of love does not stand you up. He always shows up, always remembers, and always keeps His promises. God’s love is unrelenting. He does not turn away even if you do. His excitement over you does not wane. God’s love is not some namby-pamby kindergarten crush. He is not fickle. God has seen you across the room, and He cannot take His eyes off you.” ― Angela Thomas, Do You Think I’m Beautiful?: The Question Every Woman Asks
