The Silent Messenger: No Pulpit Needed.

One of the bible passages that I dread most is Ezekiel 3:18. It is a sobering reminder of the responsibility placed on every believer. It read… “When I say to a wicked person, ‘You will surely die,’ and you do not warn them or speak out… that wicked person will die for their sin, and I will hold you accountable for their blood.” This scripture makes it clear. Silence in the face of sin is not an option for those who know the truth. James 4:17 re-echoes this. It says, "So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin".

Jesus said in Matthew 5:14–16, “You are the light of the world… let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” This doesn’t sound like a suggestion. It sounds more like an instruction. Are we obeying it or are we constantly providing seemingly legitimate excuses to ignore it? As Christians, we cannot afford to be complacent about people’s eternal destinies. We are called to share the Good News: “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16)

No Pulpit Required

Being God’s messenger is not reserved for pastors or church leaders. 2 Corinthians 5:20 tells us, “We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors.” That means every believer carries God’s message wherever they go.

  • A workplace conversation.

  • A kind message to a friend.

  • A Bible verse shared on social media.

  • A testimony whispered to someone hurting.

  • Etc.

Romans 10:14 challenges us: “How can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?” You don’t need a pulpit—your everyday life is the platform.

The Time is Now

Your job is not to convert anyone. Your job is to tell someone about God’s love for them. The Holy Spirit will take it from there as you keep praying for the person to fully come to the knowledge of God’s love.

God is urging us to step out of complacency and boldly declare His love. Speak truth in love (Ephesians 4:15), live as a light, and use every tool at your disposal to represent Christ. Share a testimony. Send a verse. Shine the light of Christ boldly, because eternity is at stake. Don’t wait for tomorrow. Represent Jesus today, everywhere, and to everyone.  Don’t wait for tomorrow. Make the change today.

A Short Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for trusting me to be Your messenger. Give me boldness to share Your Word in love and wisdom, using every opportunity You place before me. Help me to shine Your light in a dark world and bring souls into Your Kingdom, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
