1. Hear the Call Above the Storm

Matthew 14:28-29

The storm was loud. The wind was wild. The boat was shaking. But Peter heard something louder: Jesus saying, “Come.” Your storm is real. The bills, the fear, the diagnosis, the waiting. Yet Jesus is still calling. Faith begins when you decide His voice is stronger than your wind. Today, stop rehearsing the problem. Start repeating His promise. If He said “Come,” you can go.

Practical step: Write down one area where fear is loud. Below it, write: “But Jesus says, ‘Come.’” Read it out loud every morning.

2. Step Out Before You Feel Ready

Peter didn’t wait for the sea to calm. He stepped out while the waves were still high.

Unsinkable faith does not wait for perfect conditions. It is obedience in imperfect ones. You will never feel “ready enough” to forgive, to start, to trust, to give. Step anyway. The water only becomes solid under the feet that move.

Practical step: What is one small “water-walking” step you’ve been putting off? Do it within the next 24 hours. Text the person. Submit the application. Pray the scary prayer. Don’t wait for courage. Step, and watch courage meet you.

Keep Your Eyes, Keep Your Feet

Matthew 14:30

Peter walked until he looked down. The moment he focused on the wind, he began to sink. Even as he sank, he cried, “Lord, save me!” And Jesus immediately reached out.

You don’t sink because of the storm. You sink because of your stare. What you focus on, you magnify. Fix your eyes on Jesus, not the waves. If you do start to sink, don’t be too proud to cry out. Crying out is not weak faith. It’s real faith.

Practical step: When anxiety strikes today, use the “10-Second Fix”: Stop. Say Jesus’ name. Breathe. Say, “I’m looking at You, not this.” Repeat this every time your mind drifts to the wind.

4. Grab His Hand, Then Walk Again

Verse 31-32: “Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him.” He didn’t lecture Peter while he was in the water. He lifted him first. Then they walked back to the boat together.  Jesus doesn’t wait for you to swim back. He comes into your sinking place. Your failure isn’t final because His hand is faithful. Let Him lift you. Then keep walking. Your story doesn’t end with “he sank.” It ends with “they got back in the boat, and the wind stopped.”

Practical step: If you’ve recently “sunk” into doubt or sin, stop hiding. Pray this: “Jesus, I’m sinking. Save me.” Then believe He has already reached. Get up and take the next obedient step today.

Anchor Thought:

You are Faith Unsinkable, not because you never sink, but because you know who holds you when you do. The same Jesus who called Peter calls you: “Come.” This week, walk on one wave. Look at one face, His. Cry out once. And watch the storm learn your Saviour’s name.
