The greatest definition of ‘Love’ is found in the pages of the world’s all-time bestseller – The Holy Bible. The GOD of the Bible is not only the Creator of the Universe; HE is what love is all about. Yes, ‘Love’ has a name and it’s called JESUS CHRIST, who loved us so much that HE gave HIS life for us on the cross and opened the gates of eternal life through HIS resurrection, conquering death forever! Why won’t we love this GOD who loved us first and would love us forever eternally and unconditionally? But, is it really possible for us to love this GOD who is the embodiment of love himself? The answer is found in the Gospel of John 14:15 where JESUS says, "If you love me, keep my Commandments.” Loving JESUS wholeheartedly and truthfully is all about obeying and living by HIS WORD in spite of the worldly obstacles and temptations. Thus, Love is an action word and is the synonym for Obedience which enriches and strengthens our Christian Faith. After all, a true Christian life is all about Faith.
Love, Obedience and Faith all go hand-in-hand which is so well explained in the book of Daniel (found in the Old Testament of the Bible). When we reflect on the experiences of Daniel in the Lion’s den or Daniel’s three friends, Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-Nego in the fiery furnace, the question which comes to our mind is, ‘What is the secret of so strong a faith which couldn’t be deterred even at the face of deadly situations? The answer is all about their true love for GOD and GOD’s WORD (or Commandments) which made them fearless even in the face of situations which could cause their death.
Like, Daniel’s three friends, Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-Nego were willing to burn alive rather than disobeying GOD’s Commandment by worshiping the image. This obedience and daring faith of Daniel’s three friends, moved the heart of GOD and the Son of Man come down Himself and delivered them. This is not just a Sunday school story. Every word of the Bible is true and life-giving. Situations have not changed much. GOD is still looking for men and women who would display an ideal Christian life of love and obedience. Obedience to GOD is all about disobedience to the devil and to the ways of this world.
Living in this perilous End Times, obedience to GOD will definitely set us apart from the crowd. The question is, ‘Are we ready to unfollow the crowd and follow JESUS Christ?’ Do we love Christ enough to obey HIS Commandments and live by HIS Word? The answer is found in the book of Zechariah 4:6 which says, “Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the LORD Almighty.
By the help of the HOLY SPIRIT we can definitely live a true and an inspiring Christian life of faith and obedience. The Holy Spirit is our End Times helper and guide; leading us to JESUS Christ. Disobedience to GOD has not only been the root cause of sin in this world but is also the major cause of struggle for believers in the End Times. Let us live a true Christian life of Obedience by firmly disobeying the powers and principalities of high places. Praise the LORD!
